Designing for mixed personas
A picker wants the shortest path to “Ready to ship.” A finance admin wants tax certainty. A founder wants to see everything in one view. Our onboarding walks each persona through their part without forcing one giant setup wizard.
What we ask for first
- Primary location and warehouse defaults (so pick lists make sense)
- Tax scheme and slabs (GST/VAT/custom) so invoices start correct
- Baseline product catalog with IDs and names — no CSV gymnastics
How we keep it human
- Plain-language prompts: “Where do you ship from?” instead of "Origin warehouse ID."
- Undo everywhere: pickers can reverse mistakes without calling support.
- Context tips: we show how a choice impacts shipping, billing, and reports.
Hand-offs to Customer Success
CS sees the same onboarding state that users see. When someone pauses at tax setup, we can jump in with defaults or share a short loom, not restart the process. That keeps momentum and trust.
